In een nieuwe video-installatie die ontstond tijdens haar residentieperiode op Schouwen-Duiveland in januari en februari jongstleden beweegt Gerestein zich door het landschap. Het werk is nog warm: een registratie van handelingen die zich net hebben voltrokken in directe verhouding tot een plek die zelf voortdurend verschuift. Het perspectief kantelt, boven en onder wisselen van plaats, de horizon verschuift en er is geen vast punt om naar terug te keren. In weer en wind, in tijd en herhaling, ontstaat een spoor dat weer verdwijnt.

About Alles Verschuift Hier Op De Kop (literal translation: Here Upside Down Everything Shifts)
In a new video installation created during her residency on Schouwen-Duiveland last January and February, Femke Gerestein moves through the landscape. The work is still warm: a record of actions that have just taken place in direct relation to a place that is itself constantly shifting. The perspective tilts, above and below switch places, the horizon shifts, and there is no fixed point to return to. In wind and weather, in time and repetition, a trail emerges that disappears again.
